In the world of making paintings there are a lot of terms such as modeling the form, cast shadow vs. form shadow, value, temperature! it goes on and on. One of Steele’s favorites is “turning an edge with temperature.” What in the world does that mean? After this class the student will be able to demonstrate it! Learning to paint is all about seeing. Through direct observation we see shapes, colors and texture. Once seen, we then learn to emulate these forms in an accurate way, taking work to the next level. Be ready to work and learn and have fun doing it! Paul will demonstrate his technique for landscape painting and provide plenty of one-on-one instruction as well. Everybody will create paintings from photographs. It’s a fun, creative class and a real learning experience. Oil painting is recommended; acrylic and watercolor are fine too. www.paulsteelefineart.com
