In this workshop, students will explore the relationship between a figure and its environment, and how a well-chosen setting can add emotional depth to a composition. Students will work in pastels using photographs provided by Corey. Instruction will include how to edit and compose a painting from a digital photograph with easy-to-use free software, the effective use of color and edges in a composition, and the use of symbolism to convey emotion to your audience. Each day will begin with a demonstration followed by students working on their composition with plenty of individual assistance. www.coreypitkin.com
