Eugene Daub
Eugene Daub is highly recognized for his expressive portraits and figures.
His heroic figure of Rosa Parks was unveiled in the Statuary Hall of the US Capital in 2013.
Daub has completed over 40 major public art commissions. He has heroic bronze figures in three US Capitols, and work in the collection of the British Museum and The Smithsonian Institute.
Daub is the recipient of numerous awards in full-figure, monumental and bas-relief sculpture, including the J. Sanford Saltus Award and the American Numismatic Association Gold Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Bas Relief Sculpture. He is the recipient of the highest National Awards for Sculpture and Relief sculpture. Daub serves on the editorial board of the National Sculpture Society. He is the Vice President of the American Medallic Sculpture Association.
Daub has taught portrait and relief sculpture for over 3 decades.
His education includes study at the University of Pittsburgh and The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. He has taught at Academy of Arts University in San Francisco & the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Scottsdale Artists' School, as well as many other places.
