Supply lists are available online at the top of each class description. If you have questions regarding supplies, where to find the supply list on the website or cannot afford certain supplies specified on the list, please call the school before purchasing them.

Scottsdale Artists’ School operates https://scottsdaleartschool.org (henceforth referred to as the “Site”). This section informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information we receive from users of the Site. We use your Personal Information only for providing and improving the Site. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

 

Information Collection and Use
While using our Site, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally, identifiable information may include but is not limited to your name (“Personal Information”).
 
Log Data
Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include but is not limited to information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.
 
In addition, we may use third-party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor, and analyze this information. Scottsdale Artists’ School respects your privacy and considers the responsible use of personal information.

 

REGISTRATION 
 
Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Students will receive a registration confirmation email or letter within two (2) weeks of registration. Call the School prior to registering if you have any questions regarding policies.
 
Early registration is strongly encouraged, as many workshops/classes fill quickly. Please also be aware that workshops with insufficient enrollment at the thirty-day deadline may be canceled so it is important to register before that time if possible. Also, be aware that Local and Online Programs with insufficient enrollment at the seven-day deadline may be canceled so it is important to register before that time if possible.

 

Register by phone or online using a credit card
 
Scottsdale Artists’ School Gift Cards and discounts must be redeemed by phone only.

 

FEES
 
Workshops 
A $15 non-refundable registration fee and a $200 deposit are due at the time of registration for all workshops. Students enrolled in workshops will be sent an invoice approximately sixty (60) days before the start date as a reminder that the balance must be paid. The remainder of the balance is due no later than forty-five (45) days prior to the start date. At that time, the student’s credit card will automatically be charged the balance due unless the student makes other payment arrangements (e.g. mails a check, or provides an alternate credit card number).
 
Students registering online must call the School prior to the payment due date to provide a credit card with which to charge the final payment. Payments may also be made online.

 

Note: All cancellations must be in writing. See below.
 
Local Programs & One-Day Workshops
A $15 non-refundable registration fee and payment of tuition in full will be due at the time of registration for all weekly classes and one-day workshops. Students will pay the registration fee only once regardless of the number of one-day workshops or classes taken in a given fiscal year.

 

Online Classes & Workshops
A $15 non-refundable registration fee and payment of tuition in full will be due at the time of registration for all online programs.
Students will pay the registration fee only once regardless of the number of online programs taken in a given fiscal year.

 

Program Policies

 

All Cancellations must be made in writing.
 
There are no exceptions. You may mail a letter, or send an email to the school registrar (registrar@scottsdaleartschool.org) to cancel your spot in a workshop, weekly class, or one-day workshop. Cancellations cannot be accepted over the phone. You will receive a Drop Notice by email or mail (if no email address is provided), once your cancellation has been processed.
 
Workshop Cancellations & Transfers
 
Workshop Cancellations
If you cancel more than forty-five (45) days before the start date of a workshop, the School will retain $100 of your deposit as a cancellation fee and keep $100 as a credit in your account for future use. If you cancel forty-five (45) days or less before the start date, you will forfeit your entire tuition. There are no refunds for no-shows or for withdrawal after a workshop begins.
 
Workshop Transfers
Students who wish to transfer from one workshop to another in the catalog must do so 45 days or more before the start date. No transfers are allowed after that date. Students will be charged a transfer fee of $50.
 
Returned Check Fee: A fee of $35 will be charged for any checks returned for insufficient funds.

 

Local Programs Cancellations & Transfers
 
All Cancellations must be made in writing.
 
Cancellations are not accepted over the phone. To cancel your registration for a weekly class or a local workshop, you may mail, or send an email to the registrar at registrar@scottsdaleartschool.org. Cancellations are not accepted via website contact forms. You will receive a Drop Notice by email once your cancellation has been processed.
 
Scottsdale Artists’ School reserves the right to cancel, modify or substitute instructors at anytime for a local workshop, weekly class or one-day class. Full refunds will be issued if Scottsdale Artists’ School cancels a local workshop, weekly class or one-day class. The School also reserves the right to require the withdrawal of any student whose conduct is deemed detrimental to the School environment.
 
Scottsdale Artists’ School is not responsible for providing make-ups or issuing refunds, credits or transfers for local workshops, weekly classes or one-day classes missed as a result of illness, emergencies or other events beyond the School’s control.

 

Cancellations for Local Programs which include Local Workshops, Weekly Classes and One-Day Classes: If a student cancels more than seven (7) days prior to the start date of a local workshop, weekly class or one-day class, the School will refund the tuition paid, less a $30 cancellation fee. If a student cancels seven(7) days or less prior to the start date, the student will forfeit their entire tuition. There are no refunds for no-shows or for withdrawals after a class or workshop begins. Scottsdale Artists’ School reserves the right to cancel a local workshop, weekly class or one- day class prior to the start date in which case students will receive a full refund.

 

Local Workshop, Weekly Class and One-Day Class Transfers: Students who wish to transfer from a local workshop, weekly class or one-day class to another local program must contact the School for availability and do so more than seven (7) days prior to the original start date. No transfers are allowed after that date. Students will be charged a transfer fee of $15.

ONLINE PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS & TRANSFERS

 

Cancellations must be requested in writing. To cancel your registration for a class, you may mail, or send an email to the registrar at registrar@ScottsdaleArtSchool.org. Cancellations are not accepted over the phone. You will receive a confirmation via email, once your cancellation request has been received. If you cancel more than seven (7) days prior to the start date of an online class, the School will refund your tuition paid, less a $30 cancellation fee. If you cancel seven (7) days or less prior to the start date, you will forfeit your entire tuition. There are no refunds for no-shows or for withdrawals after a class begins. Scottsdale Artists’ School reserves the right to cancel an online class prior to the start date in which case students will receive a full refund.

 

Online Program Transfers
Students who wish to transfer from an online program to another online program must contact the School for availability and do so more than seven (7) days prior to the original start date. No transfers are allowed after that date. Students will be charged a transfer fee of $15.
 
Returned Check Fee: A fee of $35 will be charged for any checks returned for insufficient funds.

 

OPEN STUDIO POLICY
 
We sincerely appreciate all of the support we receive from our valued Open Studio participants. When registering for any Open Studio session, please note that as of April 1 we can no longer offer refunds, credits, or transfers if you find that you cannot attend. No exceptions. Thank you for your understanding.
 
(Grace Period: If you have already registered for any upcoming Open Studio session and you did so before April 1st, we will allow changes to be made until April 15. There will be no credits/refunds/transfers after that date.)
 
YOUTH ACADEMY CANCELLATIONS
 
If you cancel more than seven (7) days before the start of a youth academy class, the School will refund your tuition paid, less a $50 cancellation fee. If you cancel seven (7) days or less before the start date you will forfeit your entire tuition. There are no refunds for no-shows or for withdrawals after a youth academy class begins.

 

YOUTH ACADEMY TRANSFERS
 
In order to transfer from one youth camp or class to another, it must be more than seven (7) days before its start date and there will be a $10 transfer fee.
 
COURSE LOCATIONS (non-virtual)

 

Most workshops and classes are held at the School. Note that plein air painting sites are typically located a 15-60 minute drive from the School. Portable equipment and transportation are required for these courses. Students attending Destination Workshops will be given instructions on where to meet the first day of the workshop, as well as recommendations for lodging.

 

SCHEDULE CHANGES

 

Scottsdale Artists’ School reserves the right to change its calendar, withdraw or modify a course or substitute instructors at any time. The School will make every effort to notify students of major changes in the schedule. Scottsdale Artists’ School reserves the right to require withdrawal of any student whose conduct is deemed detrimental to the School.

 

PUBLICITY WAIVER
 
Unless informed otherwise, the Scottsdale Artists’ School will consider photographs taken of students in the school and of their artwork to be permissible for publication in School informational publications and marketing materials, including the web.

 

WAITING LISTS
 
If a workshop or class is full, interested students may sign up on a waiting list. No registration fee or deposit is required to be on the waiting list. Students are notified of openings in the order they sign up on the waiting list. When students are notified of openings, they must pay the registration fee and tuition, or they will lose their place on the list.
