Rob Adamson


Rob Adamson grew up in Bountiful, Utah. He earned a BFA with an emphasis in painting and drawing from the University of Utah in 1992, and an MFA in painting and drawing from Brigham Young University in 2007. He studied with Jeffrey Hein at the Hein Academy in 2014. He paints gallery and commission work in his studio located near his home in East Millcreek, Utah. Rob is known for his daytime and nighttime cityscapes. He also paints portraits and landscapes.
Rob is a Professor at the Salt Lake Community College in the Visual Art and Design Department. He teaches classes in drawing, painting, life drawing, plein-air landscape, portrait painting and design. Rob is a member of the Plein-Air Painters of Utah and an associate member of the Oil Painters of America. He has won numerous awards participating in many shows throughout Utah, California, Arizona and Idaho.
Rob enjoys performing as the percussionist for the International Children’s Choir and loves to accompany his children, Zac (piano) and Sarah Ann (violin) on the drums in their family band.
