Born in 1979, the youngest son to a violinist father and artist mother, Michael grew up surrounded by the arts. With an early interest in developing his drawing skills, Michael spent his high school years in Los Angeles studying anatomy and figure drawing under leaders in the animation and illustration fields. At 18 he began painting, first with Gregg Kreutz and then studying privately under David A Leffel. In 2009 Michael moved his studio to Los Angeles, where he now works as an artist and is a highly sought-after instructor. He teaches workshops at the Art Students League of NY, the Barcelona Academy of Art in Spain, the Classic Atelier of Utrecht in Holland, Atelier Artien in Paris and many other schools. Mr. Siegel is represented by Spanierman Gallery in New York City, Haynes Galleries on the East Coast, and Waterhouse Gallery in Santa Barabara. He has won numerous awards at international exhibitions.
