The Artists Guild Week

The Artists Guild Week

Scottsdale Artists’ School is pleased to host an Artists Guild Workshop. This program will feature four prominent artists who will share their expertise on drawing & painting the portrait & figure as well as exploring the rich tradition of painting still life. The Artists Guild staff—David A. Leffel, Sherrie McGraw & Jacqueline Kamin, along with Stacy Kamin—will help students master fundamental artistic skills. Every participant will receive individual attention from the entire staff. They will rotate among the different rooms of students, so everyone will receive frequent guidance. There will be several demonstrations for all the students throughout the week. For 5 days students will explore the qualities that define different textures. By painting still lifes & models in luxurious settings, students should feel much more confident about capturing the characteristics that distinguish copper from pewter, satin from velvet, and skin from hair. We are excited about offering students a chance to focus on a basic skill that will bring new life into their work. In this unique workshop, we look forward to furthering students’ art education in an intense but enjoyable week of study & camaraderie! And in addition to the daytime program, there will be a Thursday evening reception and demonstration from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm located at Western Spirit, Scottsdale’s Museum of the West. www.brightlightfineart.com
