Join Jane Hunt in colorful Colorado where students will paint on location to create plein air studies.  All areas of the process will be covered and students will leave this class with the skills needed to paint outside.  Participants will also gain a deeper understanding of the benefits of plein air painting and how it can improve their studio work.
Jane will teach students how to create and stick to a value plan, composition strategies for the field, how to deal with the changing light, and will share tips to use atmosphere and perspective to one’s advantage.  She’ll also demystify color theory by showing how to simplify one’s palette, create harmony, and mix colorful greys to unify paintings. There will be demonstrations, discussions, handouts, and lots of painting time and individual attention.

Portable equipment and transportation required. Students will receive lodging recommendations upon registration.
