Pastels, Portraits, Shapes, Colors and Values 2
This workshop is a continuation of the class Allen conducted last November, going into greater depth in the fundamental principles. He will again focus on the elements of shape, value and color in creating an expressive portrait painting. The first day will start with a demonstration by Allen where he will talk about facial structure and proportion followed by specially designed exercises to help students better understand pastels and the relationships of color, value and shape. The remaining first and second day particpants will work from the model and apply the principles that have been discussed. For more advanced students, there will be discussion on creating more beautiful paintings through the manipulation of edges and value/color. Allen will work individually with each student to help them find solutions to their problems. Allen’s thoughtful and positive approach will guide students to create more successful paintings.
Please Note: Pastels, Portraits, Shapes, Colors and Values Class 1 is not required to take this class.
