About Studio Support Donation
By fundraising the School underwrites each adult student on average of $200 per workshop. We rely on the generosity of our donors to help support the School and many have done so by paying it as a donation. Thank you for your generosity. This workshop will focus on the tonality of your paintings and how it effects everything from composition to color. If the values are not spot on, the whole painting will fall apart visually. If they are correct, the painting will be rock solid. The first day will begin with a 90-minute power point presentation analyzing the use of values in Masters’ paintings to the present contemporary artists. Exercises during class will include pencil sketches, marker value studies, and small value paintings. Day two will be working with a limited palette, and day three and four building up to a full palette of colors. Jay will demonstrate the exercises each day and provide any extra supplies needed. Students will be painting outdoors each day at various scenic locations. Please be prepared with a sack lunch and drinks for each day.

*Portable easel and transportation required.
