Foundation Studies: Painting I

Foundation Studies: Painting I

This class will teach the core skills to be on the path to doing professional oil paintings. Students will paint the portrait, figure and still life. Starting with a two value painting students will end with a five value painting, working with a limited palette of colors. Jerry will teach measuring and drawing for the oil painter and how to see the features as shapes of color making painting them easier to render. The purpose of edges will also be explained. Students will learn why and how artists squint.
