Beaux Arts 2018
BEAUX ARTS 2018 was a combined 35th anniversary celebration and annual fundraiser that took place on Saturday, November 10th. The theme for this very special event was Dream BIG in honor of Maxine Johnston, one of the School’s original founders. It was her dream to bring top notch artists to Scottsdale as a resource to students of all ages in a growing art community and her hard work and vision continue to be realized every day. Maxine, who continues to support and guide the School, served as the Honorary Chair for the event.
The evening featured a silent auction containing a variety of artwork from well-known professional artists including oil paintings, watercolors, drawings and sculptures. A selection of juried work from our student artists was also available in the silent auction. In addition, the live auction of select art and travel packages was held. Included in the live auction was a painting by Scottsdale Artists’ School’s Signature Artist, G. Russell Case. Guests also supported SAS by purchasing raffle tickets. The raffle item this year was a beautiful signature sculpture by Sandy Scott.
35 years was celebrated with music, libations and a light dinner. Guests, art enthusiasts and artists, local and visiting mingled under the stars in a large party tent erected on the School’s grounds and experienced a night of art and entertainment that supported Scottsdale Artists’ School’s and its 35-years of enriching the community with fine art. Admission was $125 per person and included a bidder number, food, drinks and live entertainment.
