Description: Drawing the human figure using live models, students will explore techniques that sharpen their skills before painting in acrylic and oil. Students will gain understanding of how clothing flows and falls on the human figure.

Course Title: Still Life Storytelling

Description: Learn to set up exciting combinations of objects with dramatic lighting that tell a story. Students will have fun drawing their still life on both skateboards and canvas creating movement and design, and then use color harmonies to make their paintings bold and beautiful.

Course Title: Dramatic Landscapes

Description: This class is designed to help students see shadow and light in a landscape and how the two work in relationship with each other. Students will begin in acrylic paint on canvas and then advance to oil paint by the end of the week.

Course Title: Painting from Life

Description: This class teaches the importance of painting from life and how to squint and simplify for powerful paintings. Students will work with a variety of subjects, flowers, fruit, still life objects, and a model creating compelling compositions. Students may work in acrylic or oil.

Course Title: Portfolio Preparation
Course Meets: 07-16-2012  -  07-20-2012

Tuition: $300. Sign up for two, week-long sessions and receive a $50 discount (phone/in person registration only)
Description: This session will highlight and discuss different requirements and options regarding portfolio presentation. Portfolios will be evaluated and students can work on pieces of their choice to strengthen and complete porfolio with instructor guidance.
