Scottsdale, AZ — The Scottsdale Artists’ School announces the appointment of Michelle Korf as its new Executive Director. Korf comes to the school from the City of Scottsdale, where she worked in support of the city’s arts and cultural programs.
Korf’s career has spanned many disciplines over the years and she spent the past several years focused on the arts. As the former Executive Director for Scottsdale’s Downtown Office, she served as the city’s representative to the Scottsdale Cultural Council, the Scottsdale Museum of the West, the Scottsdale Gallery Association and other local arts organizations. Korf facilitated a team that included representatives from the Scottsdale City Council and the Scottsdale Cultural Council Board of Trustees that resulted in a new 20-year agreement with the Scottsdale Cultural Council and a rewriting of the city’s Art in Public Places ordinance.
“We are delighted that Michelle has joined the school,” said Ginny Springall, Chair of the Board of Directors for the Scottsdale Artists’ School. “She has a deep appreciation for the arts and I’m confident the school will benefit from her connections to the community.”
“I am pleased to be joining the Scottsdale Artists’ School,” said Michelle Korf, “the school’s strong national reputation as a premier arts educational facility is the result of its talented instructors and top notch staff. I’m fortunate to be a part of one of Scottsdale’s oldest cultural institutions.”
Korf earned her Master of Arts in Sustainable Communities from Northern Arizona University, which included a focus on public art. She has a B.A. with a double major in Art History and French from the University of Minnesota.
