Michael Malm's studies in art began at Dixie College and South Utah University. He completed his MFA at Utah State University, but feels he will always be a student of painting. He has studied under Richard Schmid, Burt Silverman, Dan Gerhartz, Michael Workman, C.W. Mundy, and Jim Norton. Malm has been featured in numerous publications including Southwest Art and The Artists’ Magazine, and has won awards at exhibitions around the United States. Recently, Malm received awards at the Dixie College Invitational and the Art Renewal Center Competition. Malm’s work can be viewed at Trailside Galleries, Jackson Hole, WY and Scottsdale AZ; Settlers West, Tucson, AZ; Meyer Gallery, Santa Fe, NM; and DeMott Gallery, Vail, CO; among others throughout the southwest. Malm lives in the Cache Valley of northern Utah with his wife, Juanita, and their three children.
