- Allen Garns
-
Allen Garns received a BFA from the Art Center College of Design. Over the years in his studies there and in museums throughout the world, he drew inspiration from artists such as Titian, Caravaggio, Velasquez, Corot and Pissarro, and the portrayals of the physical and emotional qualities of light. “In each painting I am involved with, I try to invest my painting with a specific sense of light to establish form, describe space and evoke emotion." As a freelance illustrator for more than 20 years, Garns received awards from the Society of Illustrators of New York, American Illustration, and Communication Arts and Graphics. He has extensive experience in pastel, oil, acrylic and drawing and is continually astonished at the adventure of translating his vision of the multi-dimensional world onto a flat surface.
