Michelle Gurnee has been teaching art for 14 years in schools located in two very different locations; one in the mountains of Colorado and now in Phoenix.  She is an art teacher at Phoenix Country Day School, where  she recently received the Excellence in Teaching Award.

Michelle is a self-directed enthusiastic art educator with a passionate commitment to planting the seeds of creativity and innovative thinking in children to help them grow academically through both skill building and in knowledge of art and art history.

Michelle enjoys teaching because there is a suprise everyday in a comment or approach a student may have to a project.
