Your First Drawing Class 2
This class is a natural continuation of “Your First Drawing Class 1” and focuses on the concepts of value and edge. In this class, students will learn about the anatomy of light and shadow and the properties of edges, separating one shape from another. Using charcoal, students will learn different techniques for describing values and edges, to create the illusion of depth in a drawing. Students will practice from the cast, still-life, and occasionally the human figure. Students can expect instructive exercises, demonstrations as well as plenty of individual attention. Most importantly, after gaining a strong foothold in the fundamentals of drawing, students should feel inspired to continue confidently along their art journey. * While this is the preferred progression, the class is self-contained and can be taken independently by first-time/beginning students).
