Watercolor paintings are often technically good but still lacking spark and freshness (it’s a challenge faced by everyone) with watercolor often becoming “the muddy medium”. This class will focus on:

  • -Fresh, clean color
  • -Intuitive negative painting
  • -Incorporating soft lost edges & sharp found edges
  • -Spontaneous, sure brushwork
  • -Stronger composition & design

Landscape scenes with flowers will be the subject matter studied. A photo will be provided but the participant is always welcome and encouraged to paint from their own reference material whenever they wish. There will be demonstrations of techniques suitable for the subject, exercises, ongoing critique and lots of painting time. Class time will be structured, yet open enough to accommodate the artistic spirit within us all. All levels are welcome and encouraged to attend. The only prerequisite is an attitude of joy in the act of painting! www.juliegilbertpollard.com
