Still Life Painting Program: Color
This program consists of three areas of study for painters wanting to broaden their experience. Beginning as well as more experienced painters will benefit from the length of commitment offered by the program. Students will work from simple still life arrangements, which offer endless varieties of shape and color, requiring somewhat less demanding drawing skills. The still life is simply the best way to begin understanding the interrelated areas of study.

There are no areas of study more important to the painter than drawing and tone relationships. This should not be undervalued by the student of painting. They are the foundation of any successful painting. Students will work in mono- chrome…(any dark color and white). Students will learn to establish the relationship of shapes as well as the light and the dark. Tools, materials and sound working procedures will be covered in detail.
