Reflected Light and Foreign Color
Dan will spend day 1 and half of day 2 demonstrating, from drawing to second coat, how he plans, draws, and colors a piece. Beginning on day 2, Dan will demonstrate the fundamentals he follows using white billiard balls on a white surface in daylight in various situations. These will be the lessons that students will do step-by-step the rest of the week.
This workshop will be useful for students of all levels, from beginner to advanced, who want to learn a simple 10 color palette (taught to Dan by James Reynolds, no less) using a subject that requires no drawing skills. Dan will work over any piece as requested by the student IF the painting is not too large (18×24 inches or less), and the student is required to bring ALL their own reference material. Dan will help beginners select good reference materials.
