Digital Forensic

Today’s law enforcement artist has the opportunity to utilize digital drawing technology as another tool in their arsenal. This workshop provides a new and unique introduction to this exciting approach to art for law enforcement. Utilizing Corel Painter software and Wacom Cintiq tablets, the class focuses on fundamentals of the black and white composite process. Software and hardware will be provided. The central concepts of correct proportions and using lighting to reveal form are achieved through various software tools. Reference photos assist the artist building a face incorporating the disparate features into a cohesive whole. Exercises progress in difficulty as the student gains more skills. The use of a combination of both photographic and drawn elements to create hybrid sketches will also be covered. Attendees come away with a solid introduction to this new technique and its many potential innovative uses. If you wish to bring your own equipment, it is necessary to contact the instructor at in advance regarding your hardware and software.
