Timothy Horn

Biography
Born and raised in the small town of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Tim graduated from the Cooper Union School of Art in New York City, with a focus in graphic design. He worked at several design firms in NYC before moving to San Francisco, where he continued to work as a designer, and on a whim took a painting class. Within a year he realized he had found his calling and was completely hooked. He began painting more and more and doing less and less graphic design. In the fall of 2006, he closed his design business and now paints full time. He lives in Northern California and paints all over the Bay Area and beyond. About half his work is done on location, or "plein air", and the rest is done in his studio from studies or photographs.

He occasionally participates in plein air events, is represented by 5 galleries and teaches painting workshops around the country and abroad. Horn's work has won numerous awards, been featured in several magazines, and was on the cover of Southwest Art in 2012. Horn was the Signature Artist of Beaux Arts in 2021, and he is a signature member of both the California Art Club and Oil Painters of America.
