Linda Glover Gooch

Biography

A Westerner her whole life, Linda Glover Gooch grew up in the warmth of the Southwest.  Spending time as a child playing in the orchard groves, washes and arroyos of Southern California is where Linda developed a love for painting. In her twenties Linda's art career begin with painting the California coast line. Now her portfolio consists of the western landscape adorned with dramatic thunderheads and evening sunsets.  

 

Linda works from life whenever possible as studying on location is a valuable tool and brings new inspiration to her work while rejuvenating her, giving her the needed fuel to work in doors, bringing life into larger studio pieces. 

 

Honored with numerous awards and recognitions, Linda's paintings have been featured in museums and exhibitions including,  

Cowgirl Up! Art from the Other Half of the West, Desert Caballeros Western Museum, Wickenburg, Arizona. 16 years exhibiting. 2019 Governors Choice Award and Artist Choice Award. 2021 Best of Show and Museum Purchase Award. 

A Timeless Legacy Women Artist of Glacier National Park, Hockaday Museum, Kalispell, Montana, 2017 & 2019 Nellie Augusta Knopf  Patrons' Choice Award.   

The Celebration of Art at the Grand Canyon in Arizona 2014 Judges Award "Best Body of Work"

Her work is featured in the publication of Art of the National Parks, Historic Connections, Contemporary Interpretations, a showcase of America's finest artists who paint within the country's National Parks, and also Art of the West, Southwest Art, Plein Air magazine and Arizona Highways.  

 

 Linda is a Signature Member of Oil Painters of America and Master Signature Member of American Women Artists.
